Math & Odds
Outs
Outs are the specific cards remaining in the deck that will improve your hand to what you believe will be the winning hand. Counting outs is the first step in calculating your equity. The rule of 2 and 4 provides a quick estimate: multiply your outs by 2 for one street, or by 4 for two streets, to get your approximate equity percentage.
Example
With a flush draw on the flop, you have 9 outs (remaining cards of that suit) to complete your flush.
