Tilt

Tilt is a state of emotional frustration or anger that causes a player to abandon their normal strategy and play suboptimally. It commonly occurs after a bad beat, a cooler, or a prolonged losing streak. Tilt can manifest as playing too many hands, making overly aggressive plays, or failing to fold when appropriate. Managing tilt is one of the most important psychological skills in poker.

Example

After losing a big pot to a two-outer on the river, a tilted player shoves all-in with 72o the next hand.
